'Bands on Broadway' Taking Over Edgewater This Weekend With Musical Acts, Performances

by Joe Ward. July 20, 2021

EDGEWATER — Musical acts and circus performers will take to the streets of Edgewater this weekend for an expanded versions of the Bands on Broadway event.

This year’s festival is larger than previous versions and is being called “Bands on Broadway and Beyond,” with concerts staged at multiple locations in Edgewater. Four performances will take place Friday-Sunday, offering a variety of music performances and kid-friendly acts.

Food vendors will not be at the shows in an effort to get neighbors to patronize nearby restaurants. Beard and Belly and Cellars Bar & Grill, have partnered with the fest and are offering delivery to some of the shows, with a hosted delivery area at the performances. Other restaurants are offering special take-out deals for the event.

Each concert will have an opening act by Low Ceiling Circus, which brings circus art to places other than the three-ringed big tent.

The concerts are free to the public but require prior registration. A limited number of chairs are available to those who arrive early but attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
