Announcing Luna de Cuernos

Fifth House Ensemble is excited to announce its newest music and storytelling concert experience: Luna de Cuernos! We've spent the last few weeks with our heads together working up stories, characters, a trailer, and music selection with Chicago comic artist Sarah Becan, and now we get to share it with you!  Since Black Violet, 5HE has been itching to bring another original graphic novel to life, and we think we've hit the jackpot with this one.  In partnership with the Association House of Chicago, we'll be presenting performances of Luna de Cuernos across Chicago this spring.

Click over to the official Luna de Cuernos page on our website to watch the trailer.  While you're there, check out the program information, performance schedule, and learn more about our collaborators!

Doña Yuiza’s garden is the pride and joy of the neighborhood. When mysterious destructive forces threaten her carefully tended yard one night, the entire community must pull together to protect it. Luna de Cuernos, a modern interpretation of a Puerto Rican folktale, is a story of a tight-knit group of friends and family under threat, and the risks they will take to defend all that they own. Inspired by residents of the Chicago neighborhoods and in partnership with the Association House of Chicago, Fifth House Ensemble collaborates with graphic novelist Sarah Becan in this brand new story, brought to life by the instruments of the woodwind quintet.
